Flu and COVID Vaccine Information 2025-26

Also: Flu Clinic Schedule, COVID Clinic Schedule, COVID and Flu Vaccine Information 2025-26

All of the providers at Tamalpais Pediatrics recommend that all children aged six months and older receive a yearly flu  vaccine. We follow the recommendations of the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

All of the providers at Tamalpais Pediatrics agree with the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics for the 2025-26 COVID-19 vaccine, which are as follows:

COVID-19 continues to result in hospitalization and death in the pediatric population. Infants and children 6 through 23 months of age are at the highest risk for severe COVID-19.  Given this, the AAP recommends a COVID-19 vaccine for all children ages 6 through 23 months old to help protect against serious illness. Children younger than 2 years old are especially vulnerable to severe COVID-19 and should be prioritized for vaccination unless they have a known allergy to the vaccine or its ingredients.

In addition to the recommendation for all children younger than 2 years, the AAP recommends a single dose of age-appropriate COVID-19 vaccine for all children and adolescents 2 through 18 years of age in the following risk groups :

  • Persons at high risk of severe COVID-19
  • Residents of long-term care facilities or other congregate settings
  • Persons who have never been vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Persons whose household contacts are at high risk for severe COVID-19

The AAP also recommends the vaccine be available for children ages 2-18 who do not fall into these risk groups, but whose parent or guardian desires them to have the protection of the vaccine.

Please watch the informative video below by Dr. Branco, who provides more information about the risks and benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine.

We will be holding walk-in (no appointments) vaccine clinics every Saturday morning from 9 am until noon from September 27th through November 22nd, alternating offices each week. Both flu and Covid vaccines will be available. Unfortunately, we do not have Covid vaccines available yet for our patients with Partnership Health Plan of California insurance, but do hope to have them soon. We have limited availability to schedule vaccine-only appointments during our usual business hours Mondays through Friday. Please call the office at 415-461-0440 if you prefer to schedule an appointment during the week.

If you have any questions about the Covid or flu vaccine, please send us a portal message or call to speak to one of our Advice Nurses. We are always happy to get you more information and answer your questions.
