Thanksgiving Weekend Hours

All of us here at Tamalpais Pediatrics wish you and your families a restful and happy Thanksgiving.  We feel fortunate to be able to care for you and your children, and want to thank you for trusting us to do it.

We will be closed on Thanksgiving (November 27) and Friday, November 28.

Flu Vaccine Clinic - Saturday, November 22 - Both Offices

The next walk-in Flu Vaccine Clinics will be this coming weekend, Saturday November 22.  We will be doing flu vaccines in both offices, Novato and Greenbrae, from 9 to 12.

We are also offering Flu vaccines several times a week - these clinics are by appointment only, due to limited staff and space.

Flu Vaccine Clinics This Weekend

The Saturday Flu Vaccine Clinics have begun and will continue this weekend, on Saturday November 22nd from 9 to 12 in both offices.  The clinics are walk in - no appointment is necessary for the Saturday Flu Vaccine Clinics.

We will also be continuing our weekday clinics, including Thursday afternoons in both offices.

Sleep Class - Tomorrow, Wednesday November 12

If you have an infant or toddler who is having sleep issues, or are wondering what to expect when your baby arrives, join  Sarah Middelton, an infant sleep consultant and parent coach, in our Greenbrae office on Wednesday, November 12th at 12 noon.  Sarah will be doing a lecture on sleep from 0 to 12 months, discussing babies' sleep needs and how to help your baby learn good sleep habits.

Starting Solids Class - Thursday, November 13

This month our nutrition class will be "Introducing Your Baby to Solids: What, When and How."  The class will be in our Novato office at 12:15 on Thursday, November 13th and will be taught by Argavan Nilforoush, RD, CSP. Argavan is also teaching the "Picky Toddler Nutrition" class.  We are planning to alternate those topics every month, so if you're looking for the picky toddler class, check back in October.

The Nasal Flu Vaccine - Is it as good?

Last week, the AAP published a statement that the nasal Influenza vaccine (Flumist) was not as effective as the injectable Influenza vaccine at protecting against the H1N1 flu virus.  This statement has gotten some attention in the press and so we would like to share with you what we know about the issue, and reassure you that the Flumist vaccine IS effective, and that this news is not cause for alarm.

Ebola - What you need to know

It seems like the election news have stolen the spotlight from the "virus of the moment," which was Ebola the last few weeks and Enterovirus D68 before that.  We've most concerned with Influenza here at Tamalpais Pediatrics - specifically getting everyone vaccinated as soon as we have all of our flu vaccine.  (Remember, if your child can get the nasal vaccine we have plent of that - call for an appointment now, spaces are filling up!)
