Disneyland Measles Outbreak Reaches the Bay Area

There has been a great deal of news about the measles outbreak that began at Disneyland in December. This week, we learned of nine cases of measles in three Bay Area counties - click here to read the news article about these cases. Fortunately, there are no cases in Marin yet. Doctors and hospitals all over California, including Tamalpais Pediatrics, are preparing and educating ourselves to recognize and treat any measles patients we might see. Take a look at this article for some more details. This outbreak is the perfect example of why our practice has had an MMR vaccine policy.
